About

Open Source Group

Samsung Electronics realizes that open source software is a key component of numerous products and is a business imperative in order to continue the company’s success. The Open Source Group was formed in 2013 to do the following:

  • Help guide the company in effective consumption, collaboration, and development of open source software.
  • Provide advocacy on behalf of Samsung in external open source communities.
  • Develop consistent open source strategy and governance policies for the enterprise at large.

Our team consists of experts from a range of open source communities who provide internal leadership, guidance, and development expertise to Samsung, in addition to making contributions back to the communities the company relies on. This blog is a collection of stories that provide insight to the inner workings of successful open source methodology inside a major corporation.
